A pilotless plane of the US Force crashed in southern Helmand province on Wednesday, the alliance said.

“I can confirm there has been an incident involving an unmanned aircraft, but cannot confirm the location or type of aircraft until recovery operations have been completed,” a spokesman for the NATO-led force said.

In response to an email from Pajhwok Afghan News, the ISAF spokesman said: “When operational conditions allow it, we will release more information as appropriate.” A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed the four-engine plane crashed in the Barana area of Nava district. But he did not give further details.
