At least 18 people were injured in two blasts in the capital of central Logar province on Sunday morning, said officials.
District Deputy police chief Rais Khan Sadiq told Pajhwok Afghan News after the first explosion security personnel rushed to the scene to investigate and minutes later another blast went off at the same place.
He said nearly 14 people, among them personnel of Afghan National Army, National Directorate of Security and civilians, were injured.
The explosions happened at about 8.40 am but details of the attack remains sketchy.
A doctor on duty at the provincial civil hospital, Dr. Ahmadullah Lalahand said 18 injured vicitms were rushed to the hostpail and some were in critical condition.
An eyewitness, Zeyaullah told Pajhwok that the blasts took place along a street where the Information and Culture Department and the Afghan Red Crescant offices were located.
He said the heavy explosions damaged nearby buildings and shops, and there could be many casualties.
No one had taken immediate responsibility for the attack.
